What's Your Birthstone?

Beautiful future. Beautiful fortune.

The theory of birthstones is believed by many to date back to Biblical times. In Exodus 28:15-30, a breastplate is described as containing colors that signify each of the traditional birthstones. These mostly precious gems (pearl is the only non-gem) were thought to bring good luck to people who wore their corresponding stone.

Today, choosing a birthstone isn’t as easy as you’d expect. There are many options to consider, including modern, traditional, Ayurvedic (from traditional Indian medicine), mystical (of Tibetan origin) and zodiac birthstones. Below is a list of modern birthstones, as adopted by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912.

Park Diamond is available to consult with you about any of the birthstone options and the different ways to incorporate them into your jewelry.
